New to Boulder Valley Dressage? Want to be a show volunteer, but are shy because you don’t know what to expect? Let us help by giving you some no-pressure training. We can set you up with a volunteer trainer who will have you observe and will explain all the different jobs that are necessary at a dressage show. You will be “shadowing” gate-keepers, runners, stewards, scorers, etc. during an actual show. If you are interested in scribing for judges, we can set up a class for that as well. (Regulations require that only the judge and the scribe can be in the judge’s box for a show.) Volunteering is a great way to meet people and learn more about our sport.  That is how I got involved. Please let me know what you are interested in and we will get you started. Contact Grace Maddox, 303-823-8881 or grace.maddox@gmail.org.

Need a judge? Loni Gaudet (USEF ‘r’) and Beth Geier (USDF ‘L’), two of our BVD judges, would love to judge your ride-a-test or schooling show. Both the US Dressage Federation and the US Equestrian Federation require a good deal of continuing education and lots of practice from their judges. Contact Loni at 970-532-0852 and Beth at 303-673-9840.

The volunteer coordinator for this event is BVD Vice President Sandi Rosewell (303-449-0401 or sandra.rosewell@colorado.edu). Please contact her and see how you can help.
